Summary

Rescued from a horrendous carriage accident, Stella awakens at a gothic manor in the company of her saviors—a group of impossibly gorgeous young men。 Their gentlemanly manners conceal a brutal, inhuman thirst。 Can she unravel the mystery of their condition and escape before it’s too late to tell danger from passion?

En route to a new job that she hopes will turn her fortunes around, Stella almost loses her life! If not for the intervention of Levi and the other mysterious young men who inhabit an impressive mansion guarded by roses, she surely would have perished。 With nowhere to go, and having caught the eye of these handsome men, Stella takes a job as their maid。 But danger from the mansion’s denizens lurks around every corner…

The story is pretty hard to follow and seems to skip ahead or around。 The art is really very pretty。 It’s easy to see why this would be printed。 I hope it gets more interesting in the next volume。 I like the idea of these vampires not being able to stomach human blood from the source and crystallizing it instead。 Sort of seems like Diabolik Lovers if the vampires felt remorse or whatever it is these seemingly more sensitive vampires are。

I thought the premise had promise, the art is mostly gorgeous, and there are some interesting and creepy aspects (like the brothers' statues) but this isn't the manga for me for a few reasons。 First EVERYTHING。 IS。 SO。 DRAMATIC。 Just a wee bit too over the top for me, and drama and plot convenience are prioritized over a totally coherent story。 Second, I'm having a difficult time with the protagonist sticking around her (view spoiler)[likely mass murderer (hide spoiler)] love interest and his ab I thought the premise had promise, the art is mostly gorgeous, and there are some interesting and creepy aspects (like the brothers' statues) but this isn't the manga for me for a few reasons。 First EVERYTHING。 IS。 SO。 DRAMATIC。 Just a wee bit too over the top for me, and drama and plot convenience are prioritized over a totally coherent story。 Second, I'm having a difficult time with the protagonist sticking around her (view spoiler)[likely mass murderer (hide spoiler)] love interest and his abusive band of brothers。 I'm sure this has an audience (look at Twilight and True Crime!), but it's not for me right now。**Thanks to the artist, publisher, and NetGalley for a free copy in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

I mean, you can't REALLY go too wrong with a bunch of sexy vampires lusting after a pretty girl right? The thing that always bothers me about most manga though is that once again, the female character has absolutely no agency over her own body or fate。 Why must all manga women be complete and utter doormats? Do you like sexy vampires with a Bluebeard twist? If the answer is yes, then Rosen Blood may just be the series for you, because that's precisely what it is: hapless human girl Stella is en route to her new employer's home when。。。something。。。happens on the road。 The next thing she knows, she's waking up in a gorgeous but unfamiliar room with a handsome young man named Levi by her side。 He tells her that she was the sole survivor of a carriage accident in the predatory thorn forest, but that's no Do you like sexy vampires with a Bluebeard twist? This is definitely a guilty pleasure read。 You are reading for the artwork and the steamy scenes。 The plot is there but it's in the background compared to the characters and "romance"。I honestly enjoyed my time reading this but I can tell it will not be for everyone。 This is definitely a guilty pleasure read。 You are reading for the artwork and the steamy scenes。 The plot is there but it's in the background compared to the characters and "romance"。I honestly enjoyed my time reading this but I can tell it will not be for everyone。 。。。more

I didn't enjoy Rosen Blood as much as I hoped to。 The art was gorgeous, but it did little to help a very generic story。 I found all of the characters to be annoying especially the main character。 I might read the second book but I really didn't care about anyone in this so probably not。 I didn't enjoy Rosen Blood as much as I hoped to。 The art was gorgeous, but it did little to help a very generic story。 I found all of the characters to be annoying especially the main character。 I might read the second book but I really didn't care about anyone in this so probably not。 。。。more

I enjoyed this volume of Rosen Blood and it definitely left me wanting more。 I love stories set in a Victorian setting so I was immediately enthralled by the art work (backgrounds, clothings, the mansion, etc)。 The ending to this volume makes me feel like I'm reading an otome game; it hints that she will be something special to each male character and I am here for it。 The cast has someone for everyone whether you're a shota -con, playboy lover or kuudere aficionado。 While our heroine had a fast I enjoyed this volume of Rosen Blood and it definitely left me wanting more。 I love stories set in a Victorian setting so I was immediately enthralled by the art work (backgrounds, clothings, the mansion, etc)。 The ending to this volume makes me feel like I'm reading an otome game; it hints that she will be something special to each male character and I am here for it。 The cast has someone for everyone whether you're a shota -con, playboy lover or kuudere aficionado。 While our heroine had a fast moving relationship with main male lead Levi, the story does a great job at giving you what you want without teasing you。 The two share many kiss scenes after spending a night together。 Their relationship moves fast。 As an adult, I much prefer these things vs a shy young teen who's afraid to confess。 I am intrigued and definitely looking forward to continuing this。 。。。more

I wanted to try Rosen Blood, since the cover looks beautiful and I'm always looking for new vampire series to present。 I must say that the first part is quite packed though。 Stella survives a carriage crash and wakes up in an unknown manor surrounded by dark and mysterious guys。 She becomes their servant of sorts only to understand that these good looking guys are monsters feeding on blood。 The thing isn't that cliched gladly, but more horror-like and a lot less like "a damsel in distress" scena I wanted to try Rosen Blood, since the cover looks beautiful and I'm always looking for new vampire series to present。 I must say that the first part is quite packed though。 Stella survives a carriage crash and wakes up in an unknown manor surrounded by dark and mysterious guys。 She becomes their servant of sorts only to understand that these good looking guys are monsters feeding on blood。 The thing isn't that cliched gladly, but more horror-like and a lot less like "a damsel in distress" scenario。 Which is good of course。 Stella actually tries to understand the situation and what goes on in the house and we get glimpses of everything through her。 Perhaps the kissing with Levi comes too soon and personally I'd avoid romance this early on, since getting into the story is more important。The art looks quite nice, in a Gothic way and the viewpoints are interesting too。 The horror atmosphere works very well with this, but from time to time the panels are very stuffed。 Thus the rhythm isn't the best, but perhaps that'll get better along the way。 I hope this stays creepy though, since it makes this somewhat different。 。。。more

While there isn't a huge foundation I feel to their "relationship," I'm definitely hoping there will be at some point。 Levi seems to care for her on a deeper level and hope that continues (as well as I what feel is protectiveness, which I'm also for)。The art in this manga is INCREDIBLE! Hands down some of the most beautiful shojo manga I've laid my eyes on and definitely had me admiring pages more than once because it was so stunning! The mangaka has such a unique art style that is shojo, but also has this darker feel to it。 While it is hard for me to overlook what I mentioned about me feeling Stella is a play thing of sorts, I was pretty intrigued by the plot of this story。 I found it to be very engaging and at times quite intense! There are some interesting dynamics that come in and while one-part sort of freaked me out, it was again engaging and had me turning pages because I was genuinely curious to learn more about the men in this home。Rosen Blood may not be my typical read and has content that I'm not personally fond of reading, but the story itself was good and had fantastic artwork。 There are good mystery undertones with a main character who may start out naïve, but realize things are amiss and has the ability take things into her own hands (even if I AM concerned about her wellbeing and "the boundaries" being crossed)。 *(I received a digital early copy from NetGalley。 All thoughts expressed are my own。)* 。。。more
